| English | There is no need to worry, thinking, “If I take the bodhisattva vow until reaching the heart of awakening, then I cannot uphold it because there will be future lives when I lose it.” It is said that through the power of prayer to always renounce in all future lives, as in the tathāgata Akṣobhya’s prayer, bodhisattvas who take the vow will always renounce, regardless of whether or not a buddha appears in that world.
