| English | You might think, “I have enormous faults of negative deeds, but I am not dying now, so it is fine if I slowly confess them.” This is not okay because it is not at all reasonable to remain content, resting loosely and relaxed in a state of laziness without making an effort in the antidote because you think, “I will not die today.” Life is not reliable; you cannot have confidence that you will not die today. Without a doubt a tomorrow will come when you have died and are no more, yet there is no certainty at all when that time will come. Thus the Letter to Kaniṣka says: |
