He says that, through the force of compassion, bodhisattvas transmigrate and do not pursue liberation from existence. Thus compassion is a cause for birth in existence, and there is birth in existence through the force of prayers and so on as well. Otherwise, if it were necessary for genuine afflictions and karma to be causes for taking birth, [207] then sublime bodhisattvas would also take birth through their force and they would be inflicted by the sufferings of whatever realm they took birth in. This is not reasonable, for the Sublime Continuum states:
