Not to accept them out of idleness or laziness is a nonafflictive misdeed. It is not a misdeed, due to oneself, when seeing that you would become attached by taking the materials. There are three cases when it is not a misdeed due to the benefactor: when you suspect that they may later regret giving to another, when you suspect that they are mistaking you for someone else, and when you suspect that the benefactor may become impoverished. There are two cases when it is not a misdeed due to the material: when you suspect that the material has been offered to the spiritual community or to a stūpa, and when you suspect that it has been stolen from someone else. |
