English

d) The intense mindfulness of phenomena is the remedy for clinging to the phenomena constituent1683Skt. dharmadhātu, Tib. chos kyi khams. or the phenomena source1684Skt. dharmāyatana, Tib. chos kyi skye mched.—which is superimposed as the object of the sixth consciousness [the mental [consciousness]]—as being such and such [phenomena]. One contemplates dependent origination in progressive order and reverse order. Additionally, in the great vehicle, one analyzes these [phenomena] with reasons and arguments, such as the freedom from unity and multiplicity, and the refutation of arising from the four possibilities. Through this, one understands that bondage and release are not observable in any phenomenon whatsoever. Thus, [here] one meditates on (18) the notion of cessation and on (19) the notion of discriminatingly examining emptiness.
