| English | As the omniscient lord has said, “Although everything is by nature empty, actions and agents are tenable. There is no contradiction.” And the lord Milarepa also said, “Though they don’t exist, they do appear. It’s so amazing!” Even though all phenomena are empty of inherent existence, nevertheless happiness and suffering, actions and agents good and bad—all are faultlessly posited. This is the unblemished tradition of Nāgārjuna and his spiritual sons. This teaching is not within the reach of the lower tenet systems of the Buddhist tradition. It is exclusively the wisdom of our own Prāsaṅgika tradition. And based on these key points, this tradition is expressed in eight principal assertions, which are quite different from anything found in the lower Buddhist traditions. |
