| English | So it is that this refutation (of a truly existing self-cognizing mind) in itself invalidates—and is the principal critique of—the tenet system that asserts the existence of a consciousness that is empty of (subject–object) duality.200That is, Cittamātra. That which proves consciousness, namely, the self-knowing mind, and that which is proved thereby, namely, the self-illuminating mind, are no more than imputations. And if they are examined as to their ultimate status, this reasoning alone establishes the nonexistence of these imputed objects.
