| English | Such is the spotless wisdom of the sutras and great shastras. So it is that buddhahood is achieved through the realization of equality, the nonfigurative ultimate truth in itself (rnam grangs ma yin pa’i don dam), which is empty of all extremes. And in the event that it is not realized, it is extensively taught that the final nirvana is not achieved. This is the burden also of this present text and is the extraordinary and crucial meaning of the Great Vehicle. Therefore out of concern for the Buddha and the Doctrine, and with what ability I may possess as a man born in this degenerate age, I have discoursed briefly and openly upon their meaning. I beg you therefore not to be offended. |
