Their minds, as a result, are filled with either anguish or joy. When they fail to get what they want, they suffer, and for the sake of their desires, everyone strives and competes with someone else. Beings slash and stab each other. Moreover, for the sake of their possessions, ill-gotten through their many sins of body, speech, and mind, they lead lives of great travail and trouble. And so they pass their time, their minds deceived by the good things of this life, which are of such small worth. |
