English

If pleasure and so forth manifest intermittently, the question must be asked: Why are they not the object of constant perception? For the Sāṁkhyas claim that pleasure and the other guṇas are perceptible—they pervade the object of perception and dwell constantly in it. The guṇas should therefore be as obvious as a lighted lamp before one’s very eyes.
