Take refuge in the Dharma which is contained in the holy mind of the Victorious One, by the practice of which all the fears of samsara are dispelled. Take refuge in the Sangha, the noble assembly of Bodhisattvas who have reached the irreversible state. Take refuge in them just as one takes refuge in the Buddha, correctly, with great devotion, and without doubt or thought of deception. The Sutra of the Sun’s Essence states:
