Wise ones wish to eliminate hundreds of samsaric sufferings such as falling into hell and the like, and they engage in the methods of doing so. They also wish to dispel various types of unhappiness for all sentient beings, such as the difficult experiences of birth, old age, and death. Also, they wish to experience hundreds of temporary and permanent types of joy for themselves and other beings.
