English

The eight root downfalls that occur for ordinary beings are: teaching the view of emptiness to those who have not trained their mind; causing those who have entered the Mahayana path to retreat; abandoning the path of individual liberation and engaging in the path of Mahayana; believing that the path of disciples is unable to produce relinquishment of attachment and the like; praising oneself and blaming others for the purpose of material gain; bragging that one is comfortable with profundity; giving and taking materials offered to the Three Jewels or giving the possessions of meditators to those who are only reciting prayers. Train in discarding these.
