English

However, under careful analysis, earth and the other four elements could not be Ishvara, as you believe, for the following reasons: You believe that Ishvara is singular, but there are multiple elements. You believe that Ishvara is permanent, but the elements are impermanent. You believe that Ishvara possesses a mind, yet the elements have no mind. You believe that Ishvara is a living god, but the elements are not a god, they are a material substance. You believe that Ishvara is the object of veneration, but we step on the elements, such as earth, with our feet and so they are not the object of veneration. You believe that Ishvara is a pure substance, yet the elements are polluted by feces, urine, and other impure substances. Because their characteristics are not similar, it is ascertained that the four elements could not be Ishvara.
