English

Even if the self possesses mind, still it does not change the nature of awareness and cognition. Then how does that self that is a material substance and possesses other mental substances help to experience an object? Because nothing has been changed, it can’t contribute anything at all. Therefore it is contradictory to say that it is the experiencer of objects. Because it is material, it is not possible for it to be aware of objects, and if it is permanent, it must be free of all activity. If the self is all-pervasive, this would imply that even uncompounded space is the self, which is outrageous, so your position is disproved.
