| English | The root of the wish-fulfilling tree of the Buddha’s doctrine is based upon the fully ordained who have conquered the defilements. From that arise the factors oriented toward enlightenment, like branches, flowers, and fruit. Even for such fully ordained, if the truth has been seen but emptiness has not been seen, then it will be impossible to conquer all defilements without exception, and it will be difficult to achieve even nirvana with remainder. Not only that, if the mind is not inclined toward emptiness, then it will be absorbed in clinging to matter, so it will be extremely difficult to attain nirvana without remainder of the aggregates. |
