As this explains, the Mind Only School rejects the non-Buddhist belief that there is a self that possesses limbs or branches. They also reject the belief of the two Shravaka schools that atoms have material existence. Instead, they believe that like the perceptions of a dream, external objects do not exist in reality, but due to habitual tendencies, objects are merely perceived. The consciousness, which lacks both subject and object, ultimately exists in a self-seeing and self-illuminating manner.
