If the attractive object is not seen, the mind does not feel joy and happiness. If the mind is disturbed by lack of joy, it does not dwell in equipoise in inward samadhi. Even if the attractive and enticing object is seen, if attachment to it is not abandoned, satisfaction and contentment are never found, craving and attachment arise as before, and anxiety is experienced.
