English

The good quality of vastness is armoring oneself as a preparation, and completely engaging in activities as an application. The good quality of freedom from materialism is completely pacifying all of one’s own and others’ defilements for the purpose of great enlightenment. The good quality of great purpose is placing disciples in one of the three types of enlightenment according to their motivation. The good quality of inexhaustibility is continuing without ceasing, even in the state of nirvana without remainder.[p.236]A Commentary on Shantideva's Engaging in the Conduct of the Bodhisattvas
