| English | O Mind, the happiness that arises from feeling joy at other’s good qualities is the cause from which the result of happiness in the next life arises, and in this life, such joy is not contaminated by non-virtue. Such joy is a positive quality that is not prohibited and is permitted by the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Therefore, it is right for Mahayana practitioners to feel joy at others’ good qualities without jealousy. It is also the best method of gathering beings into the path through gentle speech. |
