| English | One may think that although suffering itself should be tolerated, it is appropriate to be angry at those who cause the harm that produced the suffering. If that were the case, one should be angry at the various blood, bile, wind, and other illnesses that produce so many terrible sufferings. Concerning this point, some may argue that one does not become angry in this case because there was no intention to produce suffering; it arose through the gathering of conditions. If that were the case why become angry with beings who possess a mind? It is inappropriate to be angry with beings, because these causers of harm lack independence; they are influenced by previous karmic conditions. |
