| English | When the midnight session approaches, sleep in the lion posture that the Protector of All Sentient Beings, the Bhagwan Buddha, demonstrated when he entered mahaparinirvana. Lie with the head pointing toward the east or north; the right side of the body upon the bed; one leg fully stretched upon the other leg; the right palm under the right cheek; left hand placed upon the left thigh; covered by a Dharma robe. Sleep in this posture. Think that through sleeping, one will strengthen the body, and then awaken to diligently practice virtue. Upon awakening, arise swiftly with an alert mind thinking, "First I will certainly engage in virtue.” Thinking and reclining thus before sleep makes sleep itself a virtue.
