English

Do not teach the profound Dharma to those who lack respect for the holy teachings and Dharma teachers. By teaching such people, they will accumulate the karma of abandoning the Dharma which will cause them to fall into hell and the other lower realms. It is also inappropriate to teach those with a properly devoted motivation but inappropriate physical behavior, such as those who wrap the head when not sick, wear a hat, hold an umbrella as a canopy, bear swords or other weapons, or cover the head with cloth. However, for those who are sick or suffer from heat, there is no fault.
