English	The enmity that others show me, Since in this or future lives It cannot actually devour me, Why should I be so averse to it? It might be thought that, while scorn and contempt do not harm our bodies and minds directly, nevertheless we are averse to such things because they show that we are disliked by others. But the dislike of others can do no actual harm to us—after all, it cannot devour us whether now or in the future. Why then is it so hard to accept that others should take no pleasure in us and show us no respect? We ought to [be able to] bear with it.

Bodhisattva - A person who seeks enlightenment for the sake of others. In Mahāyāna Buddhism, a bodhisattva is a compassionate being who is training on the path to buddhahood and aspires to eliminate the suffering of all beings and take all sentient beings to the state of enlightenment.
