The Karmāvaraṇaviśodhanavidhibhāṣya "An Explanation of the Ritual for Purifying Karmic Obscurations" (Tib. Las kyi sgrib pa rnam par sbyong ba'i cho ga bshad pa zhes bya ba; D 4007, 10 folios) is Atiśa's commentary on the Karmāvaraṇaviśuddhisūtra (D 218), presenting and explaining, section by section, a ritual for confessing and purifying karmic obscurations—refuge, prostration, confession, and dedication of merit—to be practiced six times daily, drawing on the four powers of purification and citing Śāntideva and Vasubandhu; it was translated into Tibetan by Atiśa together with the lotsāwa Tshul khrims rgyal ba (Nagtso Lotsāwa).
