Taisho University

Taisho University is a private university affiliated with Buddhism, and its founding philosophy is based on the spirit of Mahayana Buddhism: "the practice of wisdom and compassion." "The practice of wisdom and compassion" represents the way of life of a Bodhisattva in Buddhism. A Bodhisattva is a person who strives for the completion of their own spiritual practice and the salvation of all sentient beings. To put it simply, it is a person who diligently works on self-improvement while also acting with the happiness of others in mind. The founding philosophy of Taisho University embodies the wish that students live like Bodhisattvas not only while they are enrolled at the university, but throughout their lives.

Karuṇā - The profound wish for all sentient beings to be free from suffering and the causes of suffering.
