South Asia Books

South Asia Books was a Columbia, Missouri-based distributor of South Asian publications in North America, founded in 1969 by Dr. Jerry Barrier. Operating as a family-owned business for over four decades, it was the oldest and largest importer of Indian books in the United States, supplying academic libraries, bookstores, and individual scholars with titles from publishers across India and the broader South Asian region. The company also issued reprints of selected titles under its own imprint. South Asia Books closed around 2013.
