Presses Universitaires de France
Founded in 1921 by a group of professors (including Léon Brunschvicg and Maurice Caullery), Presses Universitaires de France (PUF) has been publishing and disseminating the writings of academics and researchers in the humanities and social sciences for a century. Publisher of Durkheim, Bergson, and Freud, creator of major dictionaries, numerous journals, reference collections, textbooks, and paperback series ("Que sais-je?", "Quadrige"), having educated generations of students, promoter of the most innovative currents in philosophy, history, sociology, law, psychoanalysis, political science, and economics, but also a publisher resolutely focused on the general public, PUF embraces the role of a welcoming home for the multiplicity of contemporary knowledge. Today, with an active catalog of approximately 7,000 titles, PUF continues to spread knowledge in order to serve research and continuing to make reference works accessible to the greatest number of people, essential tools for deciphering the world, taking the time for reflection and knowledge.
