Norbu Publishing House

Wydawnictwo Norbu (Norbu Publishing House) is a small, specialist Polish publishing house focused almost exclusively on Tibetan Buddhism and related spiritual traditions. Its catalogue concentrates on religion, esotericism, philosophy and ethics, and biography/autobiography. It is a niche but well-regarded press in Polish Buddhist circles.

Its published titles include Polish translations of significant Buddhist texts and teachers, including:

  • Ozdoba drogocennego wyzwolenia (The Jewel Ornament of Liberation) by Gampopa — one of the most highly rated books on the Polish reader site Lubimyczytać, scoring 9.9/10
  • Przewodnik na Ścieżce Bodhisattwy (Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life) by Śāntideva
  • Płomień Chwały (Blazing Splendor), the memoirs of Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche
  • Cenna Esencja (Precious Essence), the autobiography of Terton Barley Dorje (2008), and Masaż tybetański Kunje w praktyce (Tibetan Ku Nye Massage in Practice) by Chögyal Namkhai Norbu (2009)
  • Works by Longchenpa, Keith Dowman, and James Low on Dzogchen
The press is quite small — only 12 books are catalogued on the main Polish books database — suggesting it operates as a dedicated boutique publisher rather than a large commercial house.
