Ovidiu Cristian Nedu

Ovidiu Cristian Nedu is a Romanian scholar of religion and Indian philosophy affiliated with the University of Bucharest. His primary research focus is Yogācāra (Vijñānavāda) Buddhism, and he has published extensively on topics such as ālayavijñāna, the nature of consciousness, the concept of manas and individual selfhood, and noncognitive theories of truth in Buddhist philosophy. He also works comparatively across Indian religious traditions including Advaita Vedānta.

He has also produced annotated Romanian translations of other Yogācāra texts, including Asaṅga's Madhyāntavibhāga and Vasubandhu's Viṃśikākārikā and Trisvabhāvanirdeśa. His Academia.edu profile lists over 100 papers.

Yogācāra - Along with Madhyamaka, it was one of the two major philosophical schools of Mahāyāna Buddhism. Founded by Asaṅga and Vasubandhu around the fourth century CE, many of its central tenets have roots in the Saṃdhinirmocanasūtra and the so-called third turning of the dharma wheel (see tridharmacakrapravartana).
