Hartford Karma Thegsum Chöling

Hartford Karma Thegsum Chöling is a Tibetan Buddhist study and meditation center located in the West End of Hartford, Connecticut. Established in 1997 by Executive Directors Malou Dusyn and Kenneth Dusyn, our mission is to provide a peaceful community where people from all walks of life are able to learn, study and practice the authentic teachings of the Karma Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

We are affiliated with Karma Triyana Dharmachakra, a Tibetan Buddhist monastery and retreat center, the North American monastic seat of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje. The Karmapa is the spiritual head of the Karma Kagyu Lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

Our mission is to offer a welcoming space where people from all backgrounds can learn and practice Tibetan Buddhism. Our activities include:

  • Meditation instruction and weekly practice
  • Dharma teachings from qualified lineage teachers
  • Study of Buddhist texts and philosophy
  • Compassion-based mind training
  • Traditional Vajrayana practices with proper instruction
