The publishing house Periodika was a publishing house operating in Tallinn from 1940 to 1941 and from 1944 to 1996, which operated until 2004.

The publishing house was founded as the Estonian USSR Newspaper Publishing House, but since 1947 it also started publishing magazines, including cultural and educational publications (Looming, Keel ja Kirndus, Akadeemia, Vikerkaar, Teater, Muusika, Kino, Täheke, Úpetajate Leht, Education and (at different times) Proceedings of the Academy of Sciences of the Estonian SSR).

The publishing house was named Periodika in 1965. In 1973, the publishing house Periodika started to publish the Loomingu Raamatokogu book series as a paperback periodical . . .

In 1997, a merger agreement was signed between the publishing house Periodika, which operated as a state-owned company, and the state-owned joint-stock company Täheke and Horisont. During the merger, the publishing house Periodika and RAS Täheke were merged with the national joint-stock company Horisont and the joint-stock company Periodika was formed.

Until 2002, the publishing house published fiction, including the classic series "Europeia." Since 2010, all magazines previously published by the Periodika publishing house are published by SA Kultuurileht. (Adapted from Source Oct 16, 2024)
