Jackson Square Books

Jackson Square Books is a New York–based self-publishing imprint used by independent scholar Richard H. Jones for his translations and writings on Buddhist and Hindu philosophy. Rather than a conventional academic or trade press, it functions as a personal publishing vehicle, with titles issued in association with Amazon's CreateSpace self-publishing platform. Works published under the Jackson Square Books imprint include The Heart of Buddhist Wisdom: Plain English Translations of the Heart Sutra, the Diamond-Cutter Sutra, and other Perfection of Wisdom Texts (2012), along with other translations and studies by Jones on figures and topics such as Nāgārjuna, Gauḍapāda, and Madhyamaka Buddhist philosophy.

Madhyamaka - Along with Yogācāra, it is one of the two major philosophical schools of Mahāyāna Buddhism. Founded by Nāgārjuna around the second century CE, it is rooted in the Prajñāpāramitā Sūtras, though its initial exposition was presented in Nāgārjuna's Mūlamadhyamakakārikā.
