Institut belge des hautes études boudhiques

Institut belge des hautes études boudhiques

The Institut belge des hautes études bouddhiques (Belgian Institute of Higher Buddhist Studies) was a Belgian institution dedicated to promoting the study of Buddhism. It was located in Brussels and played a role in fostering Buddhist scholarship in Belgium.

The institute published several academic works, including:

A series called "Publications de l'Institut belge des hautes études bouddhiques" which covered topics such as Buddhist metaphysics.

"Bibliographie du Bouddhisme Zen" by Pierre Beautrix in 1969, which was part of their bibliographic series.

It's worth noting that there is also an Institut belge des hautes études chinoises (IBHEC), which focuses on Chinese studies. While these institutions have similar names, they appear to be distinct entities with different areas of focus.

As of the current date (March 21, 2025), the status of the Institut belge des hautes études bouddhiques is unclear, as the most recent information available about its activities dates back several decades. (Created by Perplexity Mar 21, 2025])
