Philosophy

This page is about the importance of Śāntideva's BCA in the way philosophers discuss Buddhist philosophical doctrines. The purpose of this page is to provide a general overview of this topic. Two aspects are important: (1) the discussion of topics pertaining to Chapter 10 (e.g., emptiness, the two truths, etc.); (2) the use of Śāntideva's work to discuss how Mahayana Buddhists address issues related to central philosophical questions (e.g., ethics).

The titles listed in the bibliography below are useful sources to develop this page. Even if their main focus is on different subject, they have been selected because they include valuable information on the topic of this page.
