Editrice Missionaria Italiana (EMI) is an Italian publishing house founded in 1973 in Bologna, with its current main office in Verona. EMI is the editorial expression of the fifteen missionary institutes present in Italy, operating globally. The publishing house is driven by the motto "parole per cambiare il mondo" (words to change the world) and is committed to spreading Christian values and addressing global issues.

EMI focuses on themes such as poverty, social justice, human rights, environmental protection, and intercultural dialogue. Over the years, it has published over 1,000 titles, including works by notable authors like Don Lorenzo Milani, Francesco Gesualdi, and Alex Zanotelli. The publishing house is known for its critical approach to consumerism, neoliberalism, and social inequality, as evident in publications like the "Guida al Consumo Critico" and "Lettera ad un consumatore del Nord".

EMI participates in various events, workshops, and exhibitions, and is involved in promoting sustainability, interreligious dialogue, and solidarity with the global South. Recently, due to changes in personnel and operational conditions, EMI has integrated its mission with the publishing company "Portico" to continue offering theological training, information, and missionary reflection and practice.

The publishing house remains a significant voice in Italian editorial landscape, committed to reflecting on the 'frontiers' of the Church and secular culture, and addressing the challenging issues of our time.
