| Feedback Content | In the opening paragraph I would separate out a short sentence at the beginning of each paragraph followed by text;
[ Buddhism represents a way of life focused on inner transformation through cultivating positive mental states and is sometimes referred to as a science of mind or an art of mind training.] The Buddha was a pragmatic teacher who taught a way to go beyond suffering and achieve a state of awakening and eternal happiness. As happiness and suffering are essentially states of the mind, the Buddhist path is centered on the inner state of the mind or consciousness. It is aimed at clearly understanding the true nature of mind and seeking, through such insight, a full transformation of the individual both morally and cognitively. Through the use of many techniques and methods, it strives to bring one from a distracted mind to a focused one, from agitated to calm, from malicious to loving, from dull to intelligent, from selfish to selfless, and so forth. [At the heart of the Buddhist endeavor to understand and transform the mind lie compassion and wisdom], Compassion is understood to be the earnest wish to eliminate the suffering of all beings, and wisdom, the ability to see through the beguilement of our ordinary existence and discern the ultimate nature of all things. Bodhicitta is the unity of such wisdom and compassion, and the tradition which mainly promotes wisdom and compassion as a way of life and primary path to freedom and ultimate happiness is known as Mahāyāna. |
